I really enjoy seeing flower shots in B+W. I think it allows you to really see the shapes and lines that we miss when distracted by vibrant colour. Feel free to post some in the replies. I'd love to see them.

you're right that it's not often done at least out of the studio - check out the B&W forum for some of Ed's work with lilies and other flowers. this is a good example of why they work and is also unusual that it's outside. Here's one of my few B&W flower shots from last year's lily of the valley project -

Beautiful, Wicked Dark. Very frail and delicate. Nice contrast with the boldness of B+W!
Thank you, Marko. I'm still learning how to deal with sharpening in post-processing. On-going experimentation! LOL
Bambi, I don't often think of flowers as mottled. This shows how effect B+W can be. Really made me see something new. Good decision to go B+W!!!
