Default Heading Out The Back Door

This is the view out the back door of the Caldwell House that sits in Cataloochee Valley in the Great Smoky Mountain NP. I loved the wood work and wanted to try and capture it in a fitting way. The house was built in 1903 and was loaded with great looking features.

Striking photo. All wood, all the time. It looks like a lot of it is tongue and groove. Very nice photo. Thanks for sharing it.

I'm betting this is an HDR converted to B&W ... and it's brilliant.

Thanks. You would be betting correctly MA, no way this was getting done in one shot!

Beautifully done LQ. Love the textures in this.
Reality is a nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there!

Bravo! Did you do HDR through the lens or in post?

Thanks. I believe I did 3 exposures of the interior for the varied light from the door and one for the exterior. Then put the interior together in post and added in the outside view.

Excellent HDR and B&W processing. Love how the lines in the wood lead you out the door.
