Photography is more than taking pictures
Plan a photo shoot if you want a better one, if you have the time to do this.
What do you want in the photos? Where do you find the subject for your photos?
Do you need to dress for the weather? Do you have access to where you'll find that subject?
Do you have the quality of photography equipment you'll need to take quality shots?
Can you use natural lighting or do you need additional lighting?
Plan every detail you can think of then think of details you might have missed. Note your plan as needed.
There's nothing worse than getting to a photo shoot and learning you forgot some important detail.
You can't plan for the unexpected but you can minimalize some of those.
Get an idea of the weather report if your photo shoot is outdoors.
Now the big one - fully charge your batteries, load your memory card, take extra fully charged batteries and memory cards.
Last but not least have fun, watch your composition for your most important shots and experiment with shots if or when you can.
Let the moment lead you and be inspired, but mainly enjoy and stay safe.
