An unusual building that has 1890 on the top. Not sure whether that was the year of construction or the address.

I like this shot Tegan - I like the different things reflecting in the windows and i like the repeating patterns.
I do find the top a bit distracting, as well as the lamp pole...but those are the elements that are there and especially for the top there's nothing to do if you want to keep the top of the building.
Of course there's always photoshop, but I wonder about using it in this case.
Nice shot!
This shot looks great!!
The only minor thing I might add is that the framing looks slightly crooked.
Well, following your suggestion, what do you think?Quote:

Thanks Realist. I noticed the problem too. I originally tried postprocessing lens correction and even straightening. I am not sure as to what is causing the distortion but I will make a few more attempts.Quote:

LOL - Nope wasn't suspicious on this one. :)
For me this works much better tegan! - No more distractions and i can enjoy the different scenes reflecting in each window.
Great job - I like this photo even more now!
Marko
Well, surprise, Marko, because the building is really a sky blue and brick pink colour, with only a hint of black and not a touch of gold anywhere. :)Quote:

But now that you've told me...I probably should have noticed....the clues were there...but....That just means you did a decent job so kudos.
So now that it's really obvious you like enhancing...These would be my suggestions to make this already fab shot, super-fab. Some of these might not be simple though..Not sure - but I'll shoot them out anyway.
-Most importantly,Get clearer, more detailed scenes in all the windows. Burn em in - clone em in, your choice.
-Remove red stuff at the top of the photo...and purple bush in foreground...
-fix alignment issue (doesn't have to be perfect) on both edges
I'm really liking this shot - great opposite colours too. Some of the 'scenes' in the windows are already really interesting.
and now that you HAVE told us...can we see the original? :D
Thanks for the comments and suggestions, Marko. I will take another look at possible enhancements. If I can fool someone with a good eye like you, it means that I am still learning and improving my skills.
Here is the original, as requested.
