Thanks MA...yours is vastly improved. I think it might have also been the PSE layers thing. I also put this version through Dynamic photo HDR as I haven't been impressed too much with the results I've been getting from Photomatrix these days....but it might be just me.
Anyhow thanks for having a go at it, it looks great!

Yup Nice work MA. I like Casil's perspective where the hay looms large...but this PP is much cleaner.

Yeh I wasn't concerned with the crop ... just wanted to see if a better result was possible from the shots given. This at least shows Casil she can improve yet on the PP front and also not to necessarily throw away the shots as her skills and software may improve in time.

Thank you both shows me I am not alone with cloud problems. I realise most of my problems are due to using Photoshop however I have also noted better results by missing some images out.

I was really caught out writing a report about the purple edge to clouds only to find when printed the purple was not there.

Anyway thank you it is refreshing to realise it's not just me.

Definitely! I very often make HDR's out of only 2 images. If one is too dark .... the sky never looks right for instance. Too light and there's no sharpness in that image which effects the HDR result also.

Anyone tried making a faux HDR from one image? I have. I've taken an image and made it darker and lighter and saved it so I had 3 separate versions. Photomatix sees the photos aren't actually a different stop but gives you the option of getting around that. It prompts you, quite easy.

Thats some interesting tone mapping you made here, I liked the scaly look of the clouds. and the composition is great
