On the sunny day the trees were just beautiful. In spring when the maples, oaks, poplars, beeches and birches are leafed out I'll be this is a riot. In the fall it must be amazing with color, but here in winter it's still pretty great -
and from the rainy day this is part of the trail leading into the gorge itself. It's hard pack snow and ice. You can see a bit of the bridge over the water (necessary in spring, believe me) at the bottom.
Anyway...still processing more from downstream. Eventually we get to a beaver pond. Fun stuff.

Thanks...yeah, they are a bit weird. Down in the gorge itself is shady and the rock goes way overhead and then there are trees lit by the sun. It's a bit surreal.
