I see where you are going with this, I like the twisted branches of the trees. Maybe try when there is a bit more sun in the sky to get more details in the trees themselves?

So I went back to my handy orchard to see what the sunset would do. I'm still not getting what I want and I think it's because the hill is too low. Anyway, these are what I brought back.

Eh, I don't know. I have an idea in my head, but cannot produce it in a photo. Overall I'm underwhelmed, but I'll probably give it another go and also scout a different orchard. Luckily we have tons of them in town.

I'm liking that last one ... an Orton effect might even work there as well.
That 2nd shot has huge potential in my mind. If were possible to have both those trees complete I think it would be stronger.
Great, gnarly branch systems there and I think a sunset/sunrise background is a good choice.
