Mt Wellington has a heap of rock formations on it's slopes and it's summit. Apparently these are something called Dolerite, a sub-volcanic rock.
It was very cold that first day up there ... minus 1 C with a decent wind blowing ...

I actually like broccoli. I'm also a fan of neat rocks. These and the ones in the other thread qualify.

It is cool how close this mountain is to the city itself. We were staying on the northside and had to drive right through near the city centre to get to the road up the mountain and it still only took 20 mins or so to get up there.
