The 1st and last for me
Why do all the trees have the tops cut off? Are these deciduous? The hooping branch gives a great leading element into the shot.
Love the fluffy look to the snow in the last shot.

I'm not a morning person. Really, but on days like today I could start. It finally snowed a few inches and prettied up a local bog I shot a few frames in on Monday. I just knew it would be great in the morning and so here it is -
I looked back once on my way out and saw these and just had to take their picture. Manual Olympus 90mm f2 lens. I wish I had opened it up one more stop.
The backlit snow really caught my attention and I like how dark the undergrowth in the background sets it off.

thanks guys. I really had a great morning taking these.
The tops fell off because when the forest flooded the trees died. After a few seasons they become brittle and full of holes from woodpeckers and other birds. There are plenty of other plants more suited to marshes that thrive here. It's the combination that intrigues me. I love forest ponds and bogs.
