Hello!
I'm very new to all this and feel a little like a poor cousin as I don't have anything like a DSLR - I recently purchased a Samsung WB700 compact, though it does have full manual controls as well as smart-point-and-shoot functions. But I hope that I can still learn some techniques and hints/tips and produce some pictures that aren't too awful!
I live in Somerset in the UK. I have dabbled now and then with photos and then given up because they were blurred/rubbish etc. But I have decided that if I don't try then I will never improve and at least it won't cost me £millions in wasted film development now that it's (mostly) digital.
Looking forward to learning lots on here and (possibly) posting some of my not-totally-horrendous pictures at some point.

Welcome to the forum! Don't worry about which camera you are using... my first digital camera was a 2 megapixel Kodak point and shoot. I have printed photos from that camera on my wall to this day. The photographer is the key...gear just makes it easier to do what you want.
Thank you for the kind welcome, much appreciated![]()
