The Imac crashed and burned so I'm on the laptop and it's just a bit weak for working with large files and images. I'm restoring the Imac from a backup and I guess I'll just see where that goes. Its hard drive became slow and unresponsive claiming it was corrupt and needed repair which I was doing up to twice a day. I upload shots from my cameras, do some post in PS and post to a couple of forums and my blog....That's it! See you all on the flipside
And when exactly are the "Cows" due home?

Sounds like you need to sell it on Kijiji and go back to the dark side of PC.

Well the backup restore wasn't 100%, little issues here and there so I dumped OS X on top of itself again to see what that would do. Still a bit flaky taking way to long to access files and drives. Overheating is still an issue without manually ramping up fans. The minute I partition the drive for bootcamp, the Imac side of the drive becomes corrupt? I think whatever issues the system has are included it the "Time Machine" backup which means I'm going to have to bite the bullet and rebuild the whole system from ground zero

The overheat problem it's an usual one for mini Mac. I guess it's same thing because the new iMac it's slimmer, so they had to cut somewhere...

I could fry an egg on the top of the Imac So I'm rebuilding from ground zero see if I can get everything going properly. Doesn't help that my internet is once again hit and miss. Seems to be the Telus 2 wire modem. It reboots itself at random intervals and stalls everywhere. I told tech support and they told me to plug in the power somewhere else and reverse the phone line. I told them to get stuffed, If the modem was not replaced, they would be! So a new modem is being shipped. This has to be the worst year I've ever had with computers and the online world
