Just got back from Puerto Rico on vacation. Man, does the weather totally affect your mindset or what? I'm back in freezing washington dc, but I'm going through some of my shots, mentally enjoying the nice weather, and wanted to know what y'all thought of this one.
This was taken in Playa Flamenco, in Culebra, Puerto Rico.
1/640, f8, 18mm, ISO 200, aperture priority, landscape picture profile, and only slightly increased vibrance/saturation in Lightroom, as the Landscape camera profile does a bit of that already. My dad always used to take these diagonal angled shots all the time when I was little, and so that is where I got the idea to do this, sort of on the spur of the moment...

I like it quite a bit. That being said, I don't like angled shots for things that are supposed to look "normal". If you are going to take an angled shot of a fence to examine light and pattern then by all means, go ahead. Taking angled shots of people and places make me dizzy or make me worry that the person is going to fall over.

I'm with Iguanasan on this one, nice shot but I could do without the angle.

haha.. fair enough.. there is certainly a bit of a dizzying factor to these angled shots. the way this one looks, for me at least, is it's as if you were sleeping on the beach, and this beautiful girl walks by (my wife, by the way ;-) ) and you bring your head up to look. hahaha
