Light painted drums

Today I was tring light painting. My son has a new drum kit. I thought the different metals and gloss drum shells might make some interesting relections. I lowered the exposure and raised the black levels in Photoshop to lose the back ground wall then adjusted the blue and red tones to cool the chrome refections. My paint brush was a LED flashlight. (The JPEG reduction blurred the wall and the cybals)

Any advice?

It's not a bad attempt and this is extremely hard stuff to do well.

Did you try to create a mock funnel over the flashlight to control he spill of light? What's the exif data here? Was this done in absolute darkness? were you completely dressed in black?

Here is the EXIF Shutter 30 sec, F5.6, ISO 100 and fl 28mm. There was a bit of light from a room upstairs (enough to see furiture as contrasts by eye but not much more). The flash light was a 6 lamp LED (one of the 3 pack Husky brand from Costco) with no funnel. I was in neutral green clothes.

BTW is there a way to save the EXF in PS when using "save for web & devices"?

Looks like circle light reflection rather light painting. Your exposure is not long enough and the light is to wide for what I believe you are attempting to do.
