Which one do you prefer??
I used 1/400 second, but there was still some motion blur in the drops - how fast should I go next time?
For me there is no question. I prefer #1 where you actually see the drops
I like the second one better ... hmm, experimentation will tell ... I'd try at least 1/500, if not 1/1000
~~ Rule of thirds is for whimps ~~I chew coffee beans with my teeth while gargling with 67° water to enjoy coffee. What is this "coffee brewing" device you speak of?
best way to learn is to try
I'm thinking1/1000 - 1/2000 or faster for total freezeframe.

Shot 1 for me is the better composition but shot 2 has the better sharpness. Good captures![]()
good for you on this play. keep on trying with various shutter speeds and you will get what you like. I would recommend cloning out the bright pole on the right of the photo, it's conflicting with the subject

A painter takes their vision and makes it a reality. A photographer takes reality and makes it their vision.
Thanks for your comments! I will try again in the near future...
These are both hilarious. Kinda like CGI. Would a flash help any, guys?

Only it's not CGI. That's the beauty of it.
I have funnier ones, like this one i took last year of a water coming out of my faucet - it looks like a booger - haha!
I don't think the my flash would help - the sync speed is 1/200. the camera won't let me set a shutter speed faster than that.
Anyways - here's the funny looking image.
In the future, I want to capture images of people's expressions as they are diving into the water, or slip on a banana peel. Don't worry - i won't be staging the latter scenario!
In any event - i promise to be more artistic (than the photo I just posted. More coming soon!!!
