I agree, the first one would have been better shot at f2.8, if you could get away with it in direct sunlight, but it looks like you caught a moment there. The second one is way too grainy or noisy.

I personally don't like the depth of field on the close-up.. I think the smiling rider would have popped more from a blurred background.
The other one isn't as sharp as I would like ... but curious what you think of the composition.
