This big fella (makes are smaller than females) is our 'Wedgie' ... the Wedgetail Eagle.
They are the largest raptor in Australia with a max wingspan of around 2.3 metres (7.4 ft) and a length up to 1.04 metres (3.4 ft). Comparable to the Bald and Golden Eagles most of you are more familiar with, and closely related I think.
The record size for this bird was one killed back in 1931 with a span of 2.84 m (9.3 ft).

If you see something beautiful, "Shoot it with a Canon"
Reality is a nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there!
first shot is so "stately" and strong! last photo: i love that pose! It shows a more vulnerable, 'sensitive' yet humorous side to this elegant bird of prey.
