    Thanks for the comments. This is the original photo, I haven't really got into Photoshop but perhaps its time. I did shoot the photo with a 300mm lense, I was more then safe.

    We are studying rattlesnake habitat and have several snakes embedded with radio transmitters. We see these snakes almost everyday and they are very shy animals. They always try to go into a burrow rather then stay above ground and be defensive. They rarely even rattle. The only reason I was even able to get the defensive pose in the photo was we just finished processing the snake (taking a blood sample, embedding a small microchip in the snake, etc.) and she was just released.
