Photographing 2D art

A while ago someone (I don't recall who) mentioned that they were trying to photograph some art that was on the wall, and what was the best way to go about it.

Hey Richard! Lol, I can not afford the soft boxes at this time but I do have light stands and fluorescent bulbs which I am going to try. My main problems will be reflections with lots windows in the rooms and I figured out the camera set up as well. Here is some detailed explanation from a flickr user. I hear you on the soft-boxes, they are on my long term shopping list...


Actually scratch that, there on my far away dream list along with a bigger house, a TVR and x-ray vision. I think I'll make do with my umbrellas, and foam board bounce cards for a lot longer.

Maybe you can arrange to photograph at night to cut down on the reflections?
