Don't be a slave to the 1:00pm schedule if a different time works better in your neighbourhood. I'm starting at 9:00am with plans to be done by noonish.

I was planning to spend some time Saturday in public with my camera. Where is "the walk" meeting on Saturday at 1:00? If I can I'll join. I love groups. Mike

I suppose I could join you. I want to end up at the "Broken City" on 11Ave around 3 for the Jazz jam. Might bring wifey along.

Cool stuff, Marko! Serendipity was on our side in Calgary as it was ACAD's Sidewalk Chalk Art Competition. I think Matt and Mike have a few images as well. They were great to photograph, and quite accommodating, chatting a little about their project and also one person thanked us for asking before taking the shots. We had to deal with rain showers which sucked for Chalk Walk especially.
Here we go:
This way!
Harrison and friend Bianca:
Monica:
I did not take her name, but don't you love the smile? Cool drawing as well!
Another very talented artist:
An umbrella to try and keep the artwork dry. The artists were wonderfully accommodating and friendly.
I love her drawing! Don't you?!
We were able to chat with a few of the artists about the publicphotography idea as well, so a short but productive day for us!
Nice going, there, Marko and JAS. I enjoyed our walk, and had a chat here and there with the odd bystander. My contributions are a little bit different, first - to follow JAS's line - the artists ... here are two portraits of sorts:
Portrait of the Artist as a young Woman
Portrait of the Artist as a young Man
Our walk would not have been complete without the acknowledgment of
Umbrella No. 8
and The Pink Settee
Being in this 'artsy' part of town we also stumbled upon a couple of close bikes. Here they are:
Said one bike to the other: Let's hang out!
And finally we ended up in a park commemorating the fallen soldiers of the first world war, the one to end all wars. There is a lantern burning there, as a memorial. Notice how the flame is caged - apparently there is no freedom.
