I really like this sunset shot! Awesome colours and I love the black rocks in the foreground. VERY striking. That said when I look more closely it looks a wee bit overfiltered/or artificial to me...can you describe the postprocessing?

Very good attention to detail, Marko. I modeled the rock in a 3D program, added the water and clouds as fractals (math used to create natural looking graphics), put the sun in the correct location and used ray tracing(based on physics) to create the light dispersion. I then filtered it through a software sunlight filter, set up the virtual camera and took a virtual photo. This is extremely basic and I have yet to learn how to put together and virtually photograph really complex environments. It is also possible to "mix" models(as in people) into virtual backgrounds too. Getting the "right look" however is the challenge and that will take more work.Originally Posted by marko
