    Default Hi from Iceland

    Hi
I arrived here after listening to the podcast, which I found interesting enough to look this site up and register.
Like the title says I live in Iceland. I am 40 something old and have been active in photography since 2004 or so, before that I was into it in my 20´s but didnt pursue it at that time. I guess my interest in photography stems from my creative site which I sadly dont get to practice much in my day to day work. Everything about photography interests me but obviously some aspects more than others. I love going out and shoot landscapes, working with strobes has my interest as well, expecially after watching the dedpxl instructional video of how to modify light. I get all sorts of ideas to shoot, not sure what some of them would fall under, landscape/portraiture. I have recently started to write my ideas down in a small notebook so as not to forget them like so many other ideas over the years

Please feel free to look at my portfolio at 500px

    Hi Sumos and welcome.

I can totally relate to your photographic background and the desire to have the creative outlet. My history is somewhat similar and I feel the same way about the creative aspects.

You have some fine shots in your portfolio and I look forward to your contribution to the forum and seeing more images from your beautiful country.
I welcome all critique and comments on any of my photos

Those are some excellent shots in your 500px album. A couple of members in my camera club went on Martin Bailey's workshop in Iceland in September. That is certainly beautiful country. With the scenery in Iceland not sure you could take a bad picture. Can't wait to see some of your posts in this forum.

    Thank you all.

I happened to follow Martins podcasts from that trip Just wish I could justify joining such a workshop they must be awesome but the the prices are in that same category -awesome-

These days we are in aurora season, and this winter we have seen some spectacular displays of the northern lights here in Iceland. I think I read somewhere that this winter there is a peak in solar activity which will give us extra bright displays of these incredible displays of light.

I have some images, actually alot that I havent had time to process but hopefully I will soon so I can share them.
