    Default The Fairy Twig

As I understand it, she travels with the Renaissance Festival circuit here in The States. She’s amazing with the kids and works well with the photographers that stop to get a few shots of her. Never speaking a word, she communicates with facial expressions and gestures. Offering children “Magic Stones” to get them closer, she then eats them before their parent’s terrified eyes.

Just kidding. She is a wonderful performer.

That background story makes an already nice image even better!

Not going to critique this as it's in the 'show' forum but I like the mood/feel and your intro to the shot made me giggle.

Thanks, everyone. I honestly believe I’d give a million dollars to have gotten some sharper images of Twig. Oh, well. There’s always next year, I suppose.

To answer Kat's questions, I was using a Nikkor 55-200VR. Since no part of the image is tack sharp, I ran another of the free actions I found that actually adds a little more blur. Strange, huh? That action goes by the name Ethereal Glow and seems to work well with portraits.

I like the effect and I'm not sure a sharper image would look better.
