OK, Valorin. Why black and white?

The hay bale contrasts more with the background in this black and white version. Black and white also conveys more of a dry and lifeless feeling, which suits the hay bale. The colour version contained too much yellow for my taste as well. Here's another one from maybe 100 m down the road, right next to my place:

I'm mostly just lucky to live in such a photogenic neighborhood :D
This shot would benefit tremendously well from the use of a graduated neutral density filter on the camera or even a software grad filter in postprocessing.

This was already shot with a 3 stop graduated neutral density filter, and the foreground was lightened in post.
I have never had the foreground that dark. We must be doing something different. :) :)Quote:
