Default Elevated Vantage Point - Lava (picture heavy)

So I booked Paradise Helicopters and flew (doors off) over the active lava flow and to the the shore, where stone meets water. Both liquid in different consistencies. I cannot describe the feeling flying in a helicopter with the door off. It is beyond amazing. The wind pushes you hard should your lens protrude too much, the sounds is fantastic, and the smell of the gasses emanating from the lava flow are tickling your nose. Quite the experience, actually made me want to get a helicopter license .... This is on the way to the coast line

and then we reached the coast line

Thanks for all the great pictures and stories from your trip. I really enjoy those island-building lava-meets-water shots. Very primordial.

Couldn't agree more. Thanks for taking us with you Matt.
Reality is a nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there!
