Today around noon, very heavy overcast/clouds - waited for the sun to peak through and started shooting. Tweaked it a bit in Lr 3 (beta). Used a Cokin graduated ND 8 "P" filter on my D5000 with the 18-55 kit lens.

Cool! Shooting straight at the sun and retaining detail certainly suggests a successful test huh?
MA - I'm pleased with the outcome and the results will improve as my experience grows - l have acquired an ND 4, and two graduated ones ( ND 4 and ND 8), will be adding a CPOL/CPOL warming or coloured in time.
