I'm not quite sure why I got the extra wide border on the right when it was posted !!!!
For me the snow needs a bit of texture to add some depth and separation. A bit more exposure may have done it. Good shot to frame and put up.

I disagree with Andrew on this one ... I like the fact there is no detail ... it makes it so much more minimal.
Definitely with MA on this one - really dig the minimalism of this

Andrew - Minimalism was the idea for this picture. I believe it works because of the fence line. It marks the separation between the top of the hill and the white background. It also gives a leading line to the trees. Without the fence line it would be just a bunch of trees in a sea of white.
Lots of options for the same shot. I will say though that on my screen the snow is whiter than the sky so there is already a separation. This scene with whiter on the bottom just registers with me as being upside down. Texture or some grey to equal the sky would balance it out for me. Nice to have the choices in our endeavours isn't it?
