For a few years now I've wanted to get a photo of a few elusive birds and the Rainbow Bee-Eater ( a spring and early summertime visitor to our shores ) was high on the list.

This morning I got one. Not as close as I'd like but they are a flighty little bird.

Very nice pics Mad Aussie. Number 1 in particular. I have to admit when I read the title I really didn't know quite what to expect!

Very cool! I know what it's like waiting for that time of year when you have a window in which to gain a possible shot.

Thank you all, I'm very please to get this one :) Be better if I'd gotten in closer though ... these are in cropped a bit.

Regent Bower bird is another I want this summer.

Sorry I haven't been around much, life is busy at present.

A beautiful specimen for sure, and you have captured him very well MA. Congrat's also on the "lifer" to add to your list.
No need for apologies, we all have lives to lead besides our leisure time spent here. I, myself, have not been here as much as I would like, but priorities first.

I stared for quite a few minutes thinking, "why are the pictures blurry? That isn't like MA." Then I realized I wasn't wearing my glasses :headslap:

Pretty bird! Looks like a little kid dunked him in several different paints, haha.

Thats a very interesting looking bird. Especially the black stripe that is a continuation of the beak. Makes the bird look like a bandit. It's colours are amazing.

As always I envy you your wildlife there - the second photo is my favourite, Steve. It has a wonderful layout.
