In my other post about shooting a portrait with one large light (http://www.photography.ca/Forums/f21/one-light-portrait-75-umbrella-15218.html) source Marko had commented that my white tee shirt was most likely adding some reflected light and indicated that a black shirt would possibly add more drama by lowering the overall brightness by eliminating the added reflection.

From the results above I have to agree with Marko. Thanks!

very nice Ed, these seem to have more light in the eyes. great portraits.

I like these too ed - quite nice tones. The position of your face in these shots does not exactly match the previous shots so the lighting pattern is slightly different which makes judging them side by side more difficult. I like both sets but i do think the black shirt works better as a whole and the shot is slightly more dramatic with the black shirt.
Certainly from an "eye guiding" P.O.V. imo, the black shirt is far superior as it zeros my eye right to your face.

I like your results and I agree with Marko, the black seems to work much better than the white.

Have looked at both, and both are very well done, but have to agree this black shirt set does tone down the reflections and brings more detail into the portrait.
Very well done on both accounts Ed.
