A short drive from the Lake Louise turn off and you get to Moraine Lake, a wonderful lake in the valley of the ten peaks. From there one can take an abundance of hikes all over the area, one of which we took. The sign said: only groups of four or more allowed on the trail - which is a nice way of saying: bears in the area. Getting there we actually encountered a Grizzly sow and her two pups, but they were too far away to get a nice shot off. Apparently they had wandered off to an area which was not very accessible to people with 30 pounds of camera gear on their back :wall-an:

Click on the image to see it in the original size (well, of sorts, cause I re-sized it to 1200 high)

It's a very nice view. I like the little details, like the driftwood, the way the water pics up color, and the water craft. All of this is much nicer than a picture showing just how many teeth a grizzly has.

Thanks Q1; and I guess you are right. Grizzlies are a subject all to themselves. Personally, I also love the serenity of the place. We are so blessed in Alberta with such fantastic landscapes.

This is outstanding Matt. I love the way the clouds work to give the mountains a dimensional effect. The water color is also gorgeous and accurate. Nice composition. I would clone out the right side tree.
