Default Moraine Lake by Lake Louise, Banff National Park

A short drive from the Lake Louise turn off and you get to Moraine Lake, a wonderful lake in the valley of the ten peaks. From there one can take an abundance of hikes all over the area, one of which we took. The sign said: only groups of four or more allowed on the trail - which is a nice way of saying: bears in the area. Getting there we actually encountered a Grizzly sow and her two pups, but they were too far away to get a nice shot off. Apparently they had wandered off to an area which was not very accessible to people with 30 pounds of camera gear on their back

Click on the image to see it in the original size (well, of sorts, cause I re-sized it to 1200 high)

It's a very nice view. I like the little details, like the driftwood, the way the water pics up color, and the water craft. All of this is much nicer than a picture showing just how many teeth a grizzly has.

Thanks Q1; and I guess you are right. Grizzlies are a subject all to themselves. Personally, I also love the serenity of the place. We are so blessed in Alberta with such fantastic landscapes.

This is outstanding Matt. I love the way the clouds work to give the mountains a dimensional effect. The water color is also gorgeous and accurate. Nice composition. I would clone out the right side tree.

Beautiful sharp detailed scene here Matt, and so well composed with such beautiful colour.
Reality is a nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there!
