Never having shot still life with flash I thought I'd give it a try. These were done with not a great deal of thought put into subject matter and...of course, It was raining. I learned from this that it would be sweet to have room around here for a permanent area of the apartment set up for this kind of work so as to not have to set up and tear down backdrop and lighting every time:)

in the top one, i love how you can see a hint of the grain from your lighting...
love the color too!

Nice shots. I bet you are loving those wireless flashes. Cant wait to get my hands on some myself. Nice work. Looks like your going to be the new still life guy around here.
I love the first one..the colors do it for me!!! Great job for first time!! Wow!

Thanks everyone...This is stuff I've been working on rainy days to get a better understanding of the flash system and given where I live, I could easily become a pretty prolific poster in this area:D
here's a couple more. The pyramid thingy was an attempt to light the thingy while not overpowering the candle within.

Ha ha ha ha..yup..that is the truth!!! I used to live in Kelowna..but would visit that way now and then..never failed to be raining!!! :p

Thanks Kiley. That shot I used a poor mans soft box which was cardboard snoots with white printer paper hung in front trying to reduce flash glare.
