I hear you on the plight of the Starfish but the seagull seemed very proud of his catch and looked like he was standing just that much taller with the pride of his achievement, he literally strutted it up and down the wharf a few times before he ate it.

i really struggle with the food chain. a life long vegetarian.

Thanks Travis...Waxwings are not much for stayng in one spot for too long, I rate them up there with dragonflies.

Nice shots. Interesting subjects. The "Don King" look is quite funny (I always seem to come into these threads late!)

I tried a few bird shots today myself without much success... they were hiding in the trees and flitting about too fast for me to catch them so my hat is off to you when you can capture them with great photos like these.

Thanks...I've learned one thing about birds...Unless they're dead, anything less than 1/250 shutter speed is futile, well the little ones anyway. Most of them are always on the go. Big birds, Herons, geese, swans etc. you can get away with a lot less sometimes. Tough critter to nail for sure:)

lol.. Dragon flies?? I find they sit perfectly still for me...

Ha ha. The only time I was able to get a Dragonfly, it landed on a friends hand!! Just stayed there while I shot away... :)
