Last Year when I stood at this spot at the end of the parade virtually nothing came along in 3 hours. I think it was because of a serious accident on a float up the road, Not this year .... lots to see as you can tell from all these pics.

I thought the little girl taking pictures and then showing the lady the picture she took of her was real cute

Hot hot hot. So colorful and I get the idea of how much work went into the costumes. These are all good exposures. I like the 4th photo in the second set best: nice poses and smiles, everyone is having fun. Interesting capture.

Thanks guys. It was definitely colourful and a lot of fun (well as much as I could have after dragging myself out out bed from the bad cold I've been suffering from).
I've learned with parades that the best spot for pics it at the very end. That way you aren't behind barriers and rows and rows of people. As you can see from here I was able to get right out on the street with them.

Lots of color and action, but I really like the 1st one of the second set - everyone taking a break and catching their breath.

Thanks Q1 and HBG.

Q1 - Interesting the pic you chose. I was debating whether to include that one and in the end decided to.

It is a lot of fun. People really get into it.

Avangard - Try it some time. A little trick I've discovered for most parades. Go at the very end of the parade (in this case on Lakeshore near the Boulevard Club as you can see from the pedestrian bridge in pic 1)). That way you can get right on the street with them.

Lots of colors! Nevertheless, IMO images all too busy. It is our task to really isolate the main subject from all the non interesting stuff around.

I live nearby and always mean to go with my camera but I've yet to make it. I think you may have inspired me to try for next year, though. Great to see these!
