I posted a picture in the 'show your photos' but probably should have put it here since I wondered about the crop (after I posted).
Here's the original:

crop 1 shows a bit of the bank but cuts out the swamp:

and here's an even smaller crop:

let me know what you think. I also have many chances to reshoot this tree so can go back if you have suggestions
Also feel free to take your own swing at the crop if you like

:thankyou:

Both crops work for me. :) although I think I favour the second.

I like both crops as well; I would consider though, going back to the pixel room and perhaps doing some leves/curves adjustments and/or burning and dodging to produce a more even sky. As is, I find the darker sky top left to be a bit of a distraction.

I like both crops as well!

I guess it depends on whether you want the lake included or not.

I think the 2nd crop without the lake it actually a bit more impacting.

Lovely image!:highfive:

I like the original crop the best!

IMO all it needs is a bit of dodging at the bottom.

thanks for the input guys. TI-how would I go about lightening up that sky with all those branches in the way? I am new to the whole burn/dodge thing.

Both crops are good. I was torn between the two. I like the original crop the best. Nice work
