Beautiful shot, Donna! I had never even heard of a Steller's Jay until a few years ago when I was in S.E. Alaska. Apparently Steller was an explorer who pretty much named everything after himself. :shrug:

Thanks asnow and casil :) ... yeah , thier attitude makes them one of my favorites too . There not afraid to voice there opinion and I like that they mimic other birds and creatures sometimes .... One was on our deck making squirl calls the other day ... We have a really comical war going on between the Jays and a devilish little red squirl at our feeders .
