Horses at Dusk
This herd resides on the Tsuu T'ina reserve bordering on the city limits. I often see them while walking, but they are enclosed by a fence around the reserve. Today they appeared out of nowhere foraging for grass. Kind of a magical moment because there was no one else around and night was falling.

This looks a bit strange as I'm not used to seeing all the horses in the exact same position with their heads down like that. Interesting capture though as I don't often see that many horses in one place. Most places where I see horses they're in twos and threes. Thanks for sharing.

they are trying to find the spring grass. most horses spend a ton of time grazing, once the grass comes in, it's harder to get their heads up!!! :)
I see one had a baby not too long ago. :)

A cool scene to chance upon, Mike and I like the evening colour in the sky.

Neat shot catching everyone doing the same thing. I like the sky as well.

Nice shot Mike. Goes to show that even in the freaking depressing weather and time of year once can manage to shoot an incredible good image!

Nice catch. Love the colour, it almost makes it look surreal.

Thanks for the comments. Much appreciated. To tell you the truth, something about the version I posted here kept bothering me, and I went back to the original RAW file to see what the difference was. I think I used too much red saturation and/or red filter to make the sky pinker than it was. That turned everything a bit too pink. Like looking through rose colored glasses I guess. I processed another version and would appreciate any further comments. It's just as clear and and a lot less pink I think. Thanks. Mike

Nice capture Mbrager, but have to say like the first version better. It actually looks like the sky is reflecting off the snow.
