Took a long while to catch this one. They tend to stay deep down in the reeds. Finally got a quick clear shot, then gone again.

Another wonderful capture, lots of detail.
Your patience is admirable, HBG, and we are ever so thankful for it, cause you share the great results you have because of it! Nice sharp shot.
I agree - digging your dedication to catching these birds in such a lovely way!
Very appreciative of the compliments all.:o
Great shot, knowing how difficult it is ,to capture these little guys.
you did a terrific job.
do you go out looking for specific birds or do you go a spot and see who's there?
Wonderful detail.
Great detail, and I also like the complimentary background.
Thanks again to all . You are all so kind.
Bambi. It is mostly about looking for habitat that would hold birds. First and foremost is, almost 90% of all birds rely on close proximity to a water body of some sort. I look at a lot of maps, as in topo, Backroad Mapbooks, and GPS also, to find habitat. Then off we go for a drive/hike/sit. Or in some cases runnin' and gunnin'. We do use the Ranger UTV to get way back in off the beaten path when needed, (although the car, and truck, have both been in places they had no reason to be in more than once). It's usually a 50/50 split on going for specific species, or just going for whatever happens to be at a location.
Awesome detail here HBG:thumbup:
