No kidding, HBG, looks nice and sharp. Those lens makers have come a long way, indeed. To think one can spend 10 grand plus for a fixed focal length for one stop more ... hmmmm .... with today's sensors this may no longer be necessary.

Oh believe me Matt, I have owned the 500 f4L and a 300 f2.8L prime of Canons, and NONE of these new super-zooms could hold a candle to them. It is not just a stop of light, but the edge to edge sharpness, and the tank-like build that also set them apart. I am not putting these new super-zooms down, as I do now own three of them, and yes they have come a long ways, and are def good enough for most work, but def not in the league of the fine super tele primes. By no means do any of zooms come close to resolving near what the camera is capable of. My reasons are, that what I shoot for return of investment, is def not what I shoot with a super telephoto lens often enough, so have made a shift to wider angle lenses. Only a couple more to go, and I will be happy I guess.

Technically excellent and a cool moment to capture to boot. Well done! :thumbup:
