hey, who are you calling 'common'?!

this common Grackle visited my feeder one day. I think he was a juvenile.

this one isn't the best in terms of sharpness but I love the pose and expression.

That first shot would have been great with a decent SLR and lens. Soon Bambi ... soon :)

I figure if I keep plugging away at composition I'll have more fun with the SLR.....

Oh hell yeh. With not having to learn composition as well you can concentrate on the other settings you will need to know.

I have a feeling that composition is a never ending learning curve ;)

but there might be a few settings I'll have to figure out when I play with it.

Michael they are neat birds. often they congregate on lawns and it's hard to get a good view. but I love the blue/black metallic variation
