That's what i thought Maw thanks!
I see excellent sharpness in the majority of your shots. Do you find this lens naturally sharp or are you also playing with unsharp mask?
I think this would make an awesome travel lens (way less heavy than the F2.8 variety)
Any complaints about that lens? How is it on autofocus? Thx! M
I don't find it as sharp as my Zuiko 70-300 and I get way more soft shots with it than I ever did with the Zuiko coupled with the E-510. I'm concluding at this point that I'm just not fully up to speed with the Nikon system. It can definitely produce crisp images and would make a good travel lens based on its weight. If it goes into hunt mode it's agonizingly slow but then so was the Zuiko:)
Thanks for the honest review. I've read quite a bit about this lens but wanted a hands on from someone 'real'.
Thx!
Marko
You're welcome. Here's a 70 -300 shot of Maxi. ISO200, f8, 1/60th, 240mm, SB900 bounce off ceiling, hand held. No adjustments except slight levels adjust...No sharpening..D700. distance to subject 4.5 feet.
