I remember my time out in Halifax I went to Crystal Crescent Beach numbness set in within 30 seconds of wading out and this was summer:eek:

I was just thinking how long it's been since I went swimming with a Border Collie! Ours died about 15 months ago and a few years before that we used to take him out on the canal skis and paddle around with them. Getting i nthe water with him was a risk because he never stopped dog paddling even when you grabbed him so stomach scratches were prevalent! :)
yeah, I wouldn't go by D'Arcy. My female ran in after him, stopped dead and ran back out at a much faster pace. I don't know if it's his maleness or the fact that he's a border collie but he didn't seem to mind it all!!!Quote:

I think Border Collies just love water! Ours would lie down in a small puddle of water/mud anywhere he saw it. He'd even lie in the street gutter if there was water there. Winter or Summer ... it didn't matter.
In the summer we'd shear him like a sheep to try to help him keep cooler .... and he had his own little doggy pool of water :)
