Renovation's Rest
Well, first of all would like to apologize for not replying to a lot of threads. We are heavy into renovating our 130 yr. old farmhouse and have not had ANY free time.
Last weekend decided to take one day off and do a little birding, so here is our day.
First sighting was approx. 100+ turkeys in a field. These toms were gobblin' away and struttin' their stuff for the ladies.

Headed over to the harbour pier where it was windy and sandy.:yuck: (yours truly, toughing it out)

Was worth it to get these beautiful, (rare, for us),Long-tail ducks.

An American Coot

The rarest catch for us was this Horned Grebe in breeding plumage with "horns" flared.

And, of course, the ever-present gull.

Hope you enjoyed our day as much as we did. Well, back to work now.

lovely shots HBG. Looks like a good day. I hope you are taking pictures of the renovations. :)
I really like the long tail duck in flight shot.

Wow! Loving #3 and #4 (the long tail ducks!)! The clarity of those shots is amazing. I feel like I can reach in a get my hand wet in the water. Great stuff!:thumbup:

The bird in shot 2 looks like it still full winter plumage on :)
Never seen a long tail duck before and love those shots!

Nice set HBG...Love the turkey gobblers:)

Thanks for the compliments everyone.
As for the "plumage" in shot #2. Would you believe people were wearing shorts while out rollerblading on shore? Amazing difference in temp out on pier with the 60-70 kph wind gusts, and I thought drywall dust was bad.

You couldn't have used the break better. You have there a couple of very good shots. I like the DOF in the second one.
