I like the texture and colour, but would love to see more of the entire oars. It looks just like sticks.

Yeah, I was going for a minimalist type shot. Maybe I'll try again another time.

The colours work so well with the timber.

I agree with MA, the colors do work. But I agree with Bambi, too. Without your title I wouldn't have known what they were. Maybe including the swell at the top of the oar would work? Still minimalist, adds a dash of curve, and provides a clue as to what it is.
