A couple of the many old brick buildings
After all, this is HOLY TOLEDO!
A couple more
Great set JJ! Wish I could go for a 4 huor walk!! 5 mins and I'm out of my little town :p
Good job of finding things on a walk around that most people would never 'see' with their camera.
You make Toledo look like a run down abandoned city on this forum JJ ;)
That 1st shot of the courthouse is, for me, a great example of how NOT straightening the verticals in PP can be a good thing.
The Holy Toledo shot is, for me, a good example of where straightening the verticals would have helped.
Forgot to mention that single selective colour shot in post 4 is VERY well done indeed!
Thanks guys. Its nice to have access to a true urban area and a true rural area within an hours drive. The city itself is only about a 15-20 minute drive going east, and going 15-20 min west, its about as rural as you can get for ohio. Im probably going to go back down there again this week sometime. I passed up on a lot of things and I left before 12:30. Once the sun reaches the other side of the city, it should expose whole new side of things. The city is a great place to take pictures, you would need several weeks to try and make the most out of it.
Toledo is getting to be run down and abandoned. If you decide to move into a building downtown, in most cases they are willing to pardon your property taxes for several years. Most of the city has fallen apart as a result of improper maintenance. They been trying to rebuild it but it has been an uphill battle. The city is not completely forgotten. I forgot to post a picture of the skyline I took as well. These buildings look new, but are all 25 years old at least. At least its a skyline though. There will be more to come in the next few weeks.
Nice job!
