P-51 "free fly" day
nice weather for a change today, so i scooted over to a local airfield to watch a free flight demo of some restored WWII P-51 fighters. i'm not a huge fan of the Mustangs... there's just too many of 'em around for me to be that impressed - but they were fun to watch nonetheless. and it reminded me how out of practice i am at high-speed panning! :o:( still, i did manage a few good shots... all with 40D and 100-400 @ various focal lengths and settings..

Great work Squirl ... love all of them but especially that last one. And the 2nd one too :)

Agree with MA here, they are all excellent, but that last one is spectacular. Really gives the viewer a feel for the speed with the earthly background involved in the scene.

I'm a big fan of the second last one. I really like the bright red and the sun flare on the canopy.:clap:
Wonderful set!

this is a great set. I agree that the last one is spectacular!

they almost look like toys. Excellent shooting.
-
excellent set of captures - will add my vote for the last shot as well!!
-
I also thought they looked like models at first glance - wonderful set! The shots with the clouds really add to these shots - well done:highfive:

Great set, and I also vote for the last image. Very well done!

All very cool! I like the last as well because of the pilot looking out the side window. :)
