A return to film

This is one of the first shots from a 20+ year old FM2n with MD12 winder and 50mm 1.8 AI lens just recently bought (in mint condition). Image is a flatbed scan of the print (sorry about the dust on the print). Film was Ilford XP2 Super 400 B&W, f2.8 and I forgot what shutter speed I was using.
Here is the gear:

that's a workhorse and a lovely dog. A malinois? Once I get working again, I think I'm going to dedicate one of my old 35mm bodies to Ilford and see if I can find my old tank.

beautiful tone and texture, fine looking animal. I have just in the last two weeks developed b+w film for the first time and printed in the darkroom. I am a noob so I am in complete aw at what you have done here.

I have a similar camera (FM2) and I loved it when i used it. There's something in the process that's making these images (especially shot 2) appear soft (perhaps the scan?)

nice dog, I like blurred background. 50mm lens are also provides with nice blur. Welcome back to film photography! It's really enjoyable!

Thanks all!
WD- just a pure bred GS
okqmaz -getting into developing and the printing is in the future for me
Marko - the more I look at the prints, the more I feel it may be that I shot it wide open at f1.8 + the scan
