The person on the left is out of focus; he is walking into the frame, but I liked the odd sort of in focus/out of focus look to this photo anyway. What do you all think?

I think it works. He's looking at something else. The in focus person is pretty obviously the main subject. I interpreted the out of focus person as coming out to check how things are going - it gives the feel of a crew working and the main subject is doing his part.
works for me, the out of focus man pushes my eye towards the guy on the grill
I'd be happier with it if the interloper was looking at the cook.
reminds me of the booths here during the Fireman's picnic. I like it!
