I love the composition... the zig zag lines at the top and the S curve in the road and the bright red sign placed pretty much at one of the third intersections. There's a bit of fuzziness in front of the buildings in the bottom right but that looks like steam/smoke or something. I think it's just a great night shot. :)
Is there anyway to get rid of the "haze", making it sharper, blacker blacks, whiter whites?
I agree with everything Iggy said.
It may be the size of the image, but the building (?) on the very top right corner doesn't look right to me. I would consider cloning it out and maybe also the lights along the very top edge?
Totally agree. Perfect composition. I also love slow night images showing all traffic lights.
Thanks so much for the comments!
RM - what you mentioned was part of what I was wondering about.
AT and Iggy - The slight haze is likely due to the fact that this was shot through a thick window.
The time exposure of the traffic helps frame the building but then the amount of unrelated space on the right side opens it back up again. Eyes go where they shouldn't. Cropping the right side into the highway and removing the non-contributing area would keep attention where it appears you want it. Even if you keep the space, toning down the three to seven overly bright billboards may also help confine the view. Your angle gives a good feel for the depth of the shot and size of the building.
My :twocents:
I drive by there lots of time a week, but you gave me the nicest view so far.
I like how the lights on the bridge add nice lines in the water, it adds a little flare to the photo.
