I took this one down at the beach with a bunch of other sunrise pics. I'm pretty happy with the way it came out. I know the reflections should probably be toned down a little but I like it (and it's how I wanted it to come out). Any comments welcome.
Straight from the camera apart from some cleanups (spot removal from a dirty filter :P).

It's a nice shot. The lens flares bother me, and I'm not too convinced about the framing - while it's obviously difficult to say from here, I might like to see the figure (who is the main subject in my opinion) a little bigger/closer, with perhaps a landscape format to get in the sea/rocks/waterfall etc.
I like the juxtoposition between the smooth pool water, and the more chaotic sea, and perhaps getting in closer might be able to show that a bit more.
But as I say, these are my intentions and preferences which may be/are completely different from yours. Bottom line - i like the shot, but I'm not convinced there's not a better one in there somewhere... ;)

For one, that is one heck of a swimming pool. It is one nice picture as well. I agree with Ben, the lens flare is a distraction point. While the picture is a solid one, I kind of want to see more as well. Not sure of your positition or your lens availability at the moment but maybe just a little more of the pool. Maybe you have more images from this attempt. They would be nice to see as well. Dont take any of this negatively though. This is still a great shot, and nothing to complain about.
First off...I would love to be there at that moment in that pool looking out!!!
I think a closer shot would of been nice but that might not of been possible.
Another vote for it being better as a landscape shot. The zoom is fine by me.
The lens flare is a distraction and could be cloned and burned out I think.

and I'd clone that lensflare out in a heartbeat. Be gone green image spoiler! :D
Thanks for all of the comments and suggestions, much appreciated. Unfortunately I couldn't get too much closer and keep this angle (and this was as far as my lens would stretch).
I did get a landscape shot but instead of looking out from the pool, back the other way.

It has a lensflare as well (only just noticed it heh).
I stuffed up cleaning up the top of the pic near the horizon but apart from that I was pretty happy with how these turned out.
This second image is also quite nice but not nearly as striking as the first.
I second marko. The first is the most striking. In fact, now in hindsight, the reason that photo works so well is the reason many others work so well, it leaves you wanting more. Not in a bad way. Its the close up shots that make you wondering what is going on around, without a frame of reference that make abstracts intriguing. I might step out there and say that about your first one. Seeing the landscape of the picture as a reference kind of ruins the image. The first is better now than when I first looked at it. Good job again.
I think your first image is great. I'm a fan of lens flare, and would keep it in.
