Really cool close up. I like the detail that you are able to capture in such a tiny object. One thing that I would think about is possibly using a smaller aperture for an increased depth of field or changing the focal point. It looks like the highest point of the ring is slightly out of focus, but either side is nice and crisp. I think what's throwing me off with this is that there are two distinct points of focus and the part that would be closest to my eye is just a tad out of focus.
Again, I love that detail!
Cool macro shot, RDBender, with some interesting details. What's your setup for this?
Wonderful ring designs. I'd love to see more shots of it. What about rotating the shot 90 degrees counter-clockwise? Just a thought.
Thanks folks I have a Nikon D5100 with a Tamron 90mm F2.8 macro lens
I think what Iggy might have been referring to, is how was it lit as well as the lens.
Way cool ring but gotta say I'm with doug here in that I'd like to see it rotated.
Since u are okay w/ critiques anywhere, Areas on the ring seem bright (clipped) to me and I can see colour noise in a few places.
I used just a SB700 flash in my left hand
